Sinopsis. / Synopsis.

Matías is expelled from the institution where he teaches Art History for showing his students images of artworks that some deem indecent. From that moment on, he is forced to reconsider both his personal and professional life, within the confines of a unique foster family that embodies the troubling persistence of certain collective fears and terrors.

Notas. / Notes on the piece.

Does the concept of intimacy still hold, or do we live in a pornographic reality? Can art ever be considered pornographic? Who turns something artistic into pornography? Who uses reality in a pornographic way? These are some of the questions that led me to write this piece, delving into the culture of cancelation and the limits of art (and morality). I take the naked human body as one of the oldest, most universal, and controversial themes in the History of Art. From the Venus of Willendorf, over 22,000 years old, to the controversial works of Egon Schiele, Robert Mapplethorpe, Wojnarowicz, Da Vinci, Gustave Courbet, or Michelangelo himself. The naked body not only represents vulnerability or beauty but also exposes the cultural codes of desire, taboo, and power. And in many cases, the scandal is not in the image itself, but in the gaze that observes it.

Escritura. / Style.

«My relationship with writing began at an early age, when I was 13, prompted by a literary competition. Since then, writing has been a constant presence in my life, although it has never been separate from another of my great passions: stage direction. My work in the performing arts completely shapes the way I write, leading me to develop an increasingly visual, physical and performative dramaturgy, in which the text is written, materialised and unfolded in space. Rather than offering certainties, this is a space that allows for doubt, the suspension of time and constant questioning. I like to think of dramaturgy as an expanding territory that enables the exploration of new formats and new strategies for approaching the task of ‘writing’ beyond words. My work draws inspiration from the worlds of Angélica Liddell, FC Bergman, El Conde de Torrefiel, Marcos Morau, Sergio Blanco and La Ribot, among others. I admire them and draw from their work because I feel they are creators whose stage proposals open up cracks, generate friction and expand the imaginary of our theatre scene.» (Tomás Cabané).
