Biografía. / Biography.

Paulina Eryka Masa (Gdańsk, 1997) es graduada en Filología Hispánica, con especialización en Traducción e Interpretación, por la Universidad de Gdańsk. Dramaturga, traductora y creadora escénica, desarrolla su labor entre los ámbitos teatrales polaco e hispanohablante. Es miembro de la Asociación de Traductores Literarios de Polonia (Stowarzyszenie Tłumaczy Literatury) y de la Fundación Hiszpański Konsulat Kultury. En 2017 obtuvo el Título de Bachiller otorgado por el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte de España. Asimismo, cursó estudios de Filología Italiana y Estudios Teatrales. Paralelamente, desarrolla una práctica continuada en el ámbito de la danza, formándose durante años en flamenco tanto en Polonia como en España, una disciplina que constituye una importante fuente de inspiración para su sensibilidad artística y dramatúrgica.
Su trabajo ha sido reconocido en numerosas ocasiones. Fue semifinalista del Premio de Dramaturgia de Gdynia en tres ediciones consecutivas (2021, 2022 y 2023), y sus espectáculos participaron en el Concurso Nacional de Puesta en Escena de Dramaturgia Polaca Contemporánea. En 2023 recibió el Premio del Público del Premio de la Ciudad de Gdańsk para Jóvenes Creadores de Cultura, así como el Premio Santander Universidades para los mejores estudiantes y doctorandos. Su traducción de Armonía del silencio, de Lola Blasco, fue distinguida con el prestigioso reconocimiento internacional EURODRAM. Asimismo, la revista teatral Teatr incluyó en dos ocasiones su traducción en la selección anual «Los mejores, la mejor, los mejores», en la categoría de mejor nueva obra extranjera (2022 y 2023).
Como traductora, está especializada en dramaturgia contemporánea de España y América Latina. Ha traducido textos de autores y autoras como Pablo Remón, Paco Bezerra, Lola Blasco, Paco Gámez, Juana Escabias, Tomás Cabané y Carla Zúñiga Morales, entre otros. Sus traducciones se publican regularmente en la revista Dialog, con la que colabora también como autora de textos dedicados a la dramaturgia contemporánea. Asimismo, ha publicado traducciones de poesía en la revista Suburbia.
Ha colaborado con instituciones como el Teatro Wybrzeże de Gdańsk, el Teatro Contemporáneo de Szczecin, el Teatro Nacional de Varsovia, el Teatro w Blokowisku GAK Plama, la Academia de Artes Teatrales de Wrocław (AST) y la Escuela Nacional de Cine, Televisión y Teatro de Łódź (PWSFTviT). Debutó en el ciclo PC Drama en 2022 con la lectura dramatizada de Grooming, de Paco Bezerra. Un año más tarde dirigió la lectura de Muero porque no muero. La doble vida de Teresa, del mismo autor, con Ewa Skibińska en el papel protagonista. Esta producción formó parte de la programación del XXVIII Festival Internacional de Teatro Konfrontacje Teatralne de Lublin. Ha sido beneficiaria de becas y ayudas artísticas concedidas por la Ciudad de Gdańsk, el Voivodato de Pomerania, el Programa Sur del Gobierno de Argentina y la Fundación SGAE.
Su trabajo artístico se centra en temas como la intimidad, la melancolía, la corporalidad, el misticismo, la experiencia femenina, la filosofía y las relaciones entre palabra y movimiento, desarrollando un lenguaje propio que combina precisión emocional y una profunda conciencia de la forma teatral.

Paulina Eryka Masa (Gdańsk, 1997) graduated in Hispanic Philology, specializing in Translation and Interpreting, from the University of Gdańsk. A playwright, translator and theatre-maker, she works across the Polish- and Spanish-speaking theatre spheres. She is a member of the Association of Literary Translators of Poland (Stowarzyszenie Tłumaczy Literatury) and the Fundación Hiszpański Konsulat Kultury. In 2017, she obtained the Spanish Baccalaureate Diploma awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. She also studied Italian Philology and Theatre Studies. Alongside her academic and professional work, she has pursued continuous training in dance, studying flamenco for many years both in Poland and Spain, a discipline that constitutes an important source of inspiration for her artistic and dramaturgical sensibility.
Her work has received recognition on numerous occasions. She was a semifinalist for the Gdynia Drama Award in three consecutive editions (2021, 2022 and 2023), and her productions participated in the National Competition for Staging Contemporary Polish Drama. In 2023, she received the Audience Award of the City of Gdańsk Award for Young Culture Creators, as well as the Santander Universities Award for the best students and doctoral candidates. Her translation of Armonía del silencio by Lola Blasco received the prestigious international EURODRAM recognition. The theatre magazine Teatr also included her translation twice in its annual selection “The Best, the Best, the Best”, in the category of Best New Foreign Play (2022 and 2023).
As a translator, she specializes in contemporary drama from Spain and Latin America. She has translated texts by authors including Pablo Remón, Paco Bezerra, Lola Blasco, Paco Gámez, Juana Escabias, Tomás Cabané and Carla Zúñiga Morales, among others. Her translations are regularly published in the magazine Dialog, with which she also collaborates as an author of texts devoted to contemporary playwriting. She has also published poetry translations in the magazine Suburbia.
She has collaborated with institutions such as the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk, the Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin, the National Theatre in Warsaw, Teatr w Blokowisku GAK Plama, the Academy of Theatre Arts in Wrocław (AST), and the National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź (PWSFTviT). She made her debut in the PC Drama series in 2022 with a staged reading of Grooming by Paco Bezerra. A year later, she directed a reading of Muero porque no muero. La doble vida de Teresa by the same author, with Ewa Skibińska in the leading role. This production was part of the programme of the 28th International Theatre Festival Konfrontacje Teatralne in Lublin. She has received artistic grants and support from the City of Gdańsk, the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the Argentine Government’s Programa Sur and Fundación SGAE.
Her artistic work focuses on themes such as intimacy, melancholy, corporeality, mysticism, female experience, philosophy, and the relationship between word and movement, developing a distinctive language that combines emotional precision with a profound awareness of theatrical form.
